Overview
The Playbook is the live strategy document for each client engagement, covering positioning, targeting, personas, call scripts, email templates, launch planning, team assignments, aliases, and Meeting Handoff guidance. Internal editors can restore saved Auto-Email Campaign Copy without rebuilding the rest of the document, while clients see the marked client-facing sections read-only. A named incoming SDR with a scheduled takeover can review the affected Playbook before the reassignment, with editing and comment controls withheld until access changes. For an authorized client Deal with no in-platform Playbook, a valid legacy Google Docs Playbook can appear as an Existing Playbook card with an Open Playbook link. When a client-facing Playbook is still hidden and no legacy fallback exists, the Coming soon view checks availability automatically and refreshes when the Playbook is ready.
How to use this page
Open a client's Playbook
Choose a client in the switcher or open /platform/onboarding/playbook/{dealId}. The deep link syncs the selected client before loading the document.
Browse the document
Use the left rail to jump between Your Team, Aliases, Overview, ICP, Personas, Stories, Meeting Handoff, Calling Script, Post-Call Emails, Auto Emails, Launch Plan, and other sections. Comment badges show open notes.
Review the Meeting Handoff
Use the Meeting Handoff section to review the Intro, Handoff Process, Meeting Management, First Meeting Best Practices, Decision-Making Questions, and Recommended B2B Sales Books blocks. Internal editors can add, remove, hide, or restore content.
Edit and format internal content
Internal editors can edit calling scripts, post-call emails, and per-section internal notes with Bold, Italic, and Strikethrough. Notes labeled not shown to client remain private. Each calling-script card keeps its own identity while saved scripts load and cards are added or moved, so editing stays attached to the intended section. Saves retry automatically and back up in the browser.
Restore saved Auto-Email copy
When Auto-Email Campaign Copy has been removed, use Restore saved copy in Build Your Playbook. It restores the saved copy and auto-cadence templates without regenerating or overwriting the rest of the Playbook. Auto-cadence sending remains off until enabled separately.
Regenerate the full Playbook carefully
Use Regenerate full Playbook only when you intend to rebuild generated sections. The page warns that full regeneration can overwrite edits. Click the button to review the confirmation dialog, then choose Regenerate playbook to continue or Cancel to leave the current copy unchanged. Use Restore saved copy for the narrow Auto-Email recovery case.
Review, comment, and share
Use View as client, Visible to client, Copy Share Link, Copy Content, PDF / Print, and field comments as appropriate. Clients see read-only content without internal notes, generation controls, or comment management.
Review a scheduled takeover as view only
When an incoming SDR opens a Playbook from the SDR Hub's Takeover Preparation section, a banner explains that access is view only until the reassignment takes effect. The document remains available for review, while section completion and comment controls are hidden.
Wait for a client Playbook to become available
If an authorized client sees the Coming soon view because the primary Playbook is hidden and no valid legacy link exists, the page checks the authorized no-cache availability endpoint automatically. When the Playbook becomes visible, the page refreshes itself so the client does not need to reload manually.
Open a legacy Playbook when needed
If an authorized client Deal has no primary in-platform Playbook but has a valid Google Docs Playbook link, the client view shows an Existing Playbook card. Click Open Playbook to open the reviewed legacy document in a new tab. The fallback accepts only an HTTPS docs.google.com document link and does not replace an existing in-platform Playbook.
What the buttons do
- Restore saved copy
- Restores removed Auto-Email Campaign Copy and its saved auto-cadence templates without rebuilding other Playbook sections. Sending stays off.
- Regenerate full Playbook
- Opens a confirmation dialog, then rebuilds generated Playbook sections from the configured inputs only after you choose Regenerate playbook. The operation may overwrite edits, so use it deliberately.
- View as client / Visible to client
- Preview or publish the client-facing cut of the Playbook.
- Copy Share Link
- Copies the stable deep link for the selected client's Playbook.
- Bold / Italic / Strikethrough
- Formats script, email, and internal-note text for light emphasis. Formatting carries to the dialer and PDF export where applicable.
- Retry save
- Retries the last failed Playbook save after automatic retries are exhausted.
- Takeover preparation banner
- Explains that a scheduled incoming SDR can review the Playbook in view-only mode before the reassignment takes effect.
- Open Playbook
- Opens the authorized client's legacy Google Docs Playbook in a new tab when no primary in-platform Playbook is available.
