Overview

API Keys manages the one active production key that authenticates requests to the public SalesHive Platform API for the selected client. Copy the base URL or API key into an integration, review usage, rename the active key, replace it when a new copyable value is needed, and revoke it when it should stop working. Full key values are shown only once, while revoked keys remain in the history for audit reference.

How to use this page

  1. Check the client and API status

Confirm the selected client in the Client Switcher. The status band shows whether an active key is ready, when it was last used, the total request count, and how many revoked keys are retained. Copy the Base URL, https://app.saleshive.com/api/public/v1, when your integration asks for the public API endpoint.

  2. Create the first key

If there is no active key, enter a name such as Production API Key and click Create API key. SalesHive displays the full value only once. Copy it immediately, paste it into the integration's API Key field, and store it in a secret manager. Keep the page open until the integration accepts it.

  3. Review or rename the active key

The Active Key card shows the key name, a masked value, and Created, Last used, and Requests statistics. The masked value is not usable as the secret. Click Rename, edit the name, then choose Save or Cancel; renaming does not change the key value.

  4. Get a new copyable key

Click Get a copyable key when the current full value was not saved or you need a fresh value. Confirm with Replace key. The current key is revoked immediately, a new active key is issued, and the full replacement appears once with a Copy API key button. Copy it into the integration right away, and do not paste the Base URL into the API Key field.

  5. Revoke a key and review history

Click Revoke key and confirm when the active key should stop authenticating without a replacement. Rotated and revoked keys appear in Key History with their masked values and timestamps, but they cannot be used again.

Common questions

No. The active card always shows a masked value, and the full value is shown only once when a key is created or replaced. If it was not saved, use Get a copyable key, confirm the replacement, and copy the new value immediately.
The confirmation explains that the current key is stored as a one-way hash and cannot be revealed. After you choose Replace key, the current key is revoked immediately, a new active key is issued, and its full value is displayed once with Copy API key.
Get a copyable key replaces the current key with a new active key, while Revoke key disables the current key without a replacement. In both cases, the old key stops working immediately.
No. One active key is allowed per client. Replaced and revoked keys remain in Key History for reference but cannot authenticate.
Paste the full value from the one-time key field into Zapier's API Key field. Use Copy API key, and do not paste the Base URL into that field.
Replace it only when the receiving integration is ready for a new secret, because the current key is revoked as soon as you confirm. Copy the replacement and update the integration immediately.
